Identify your Rancher 350
Locate the model and VIN information on the ATV, then check the original carburetor and service information. Common Rancher 350 designations can include TRX350TM, TRX350TE, TRX350FM and TRX350FE. These codes distinguish two-wheel-drive, four-wheel-drive, manual-shift and electric-shift configurations.

- 2WD or 4WD configuration

Compare the physical configuration
Before installation, compare the replacement with the original part side by side. Check:

- Electrical connectors, heater or sensor provisions when present
- Intake boot and airbox boot condition
Do not force a carburetor into hardened or cracked intake boots. An intake leak can cause difficult starting, hanging idle, surging and a lean running condition.

Inspect the fuel tank, petcock, fuel line, filter, air filter, intake boots, spark plug and valve condition before concluding that the carburetor is the only fault. Contaminated fuel can quickly clog a replacement carburetor.

- Turn the fuel off, disconnect the battery where appropriate and remove the spark-plug lead.
- Photograph all cables and hoses before disassembly.
- Drain stale fuel and clean the supply system.
- Compare ports, fittings, cables and dimensions before mounting the replacement.
- Replace damaged intake seals, O-rings or boots.
- Route overflow and vent hoses safely away from heat.
- Check for fuel leaks before starting.
- Warm the engine fully before evaluating idle or mixture behavior.
